  • Jordan & Sarah’s Wedding – Kearney, NE

Back in November I had the chance to second shoot a wedding out in Kearney for Joey Bertocchini of Half Full Photography.  Joey’s from San Diego, CA which in my mind is “someplace warm”.  Kearney on November 19th last year was “someplace cold”.  Really cold.  It didn’t really matter though.  We did group pictures at the Minden Opera House rather than outdoors, but aside from that no one let the weather dampen the day.  Jordan & Sarah threw an awesome party, and Joey was a ton of fun to work with.  Here’s some of my favorites from the day, kind of a large set but I had lot of favorites!

P.S. – Quick photo-geekery.  I think one of my favorite pictures I shot all year is the black and white closeup of Jordan & Sarah’s first dance.  I picked up VSCO for Lightroom recently and while I’m still on the fence about the color presets, I’m really loving the Tri-X.  Most of the Black & White conversions in this set used the Tri-X preset as a starting point.  I find it delightful.

  • Gary & Brita’s Wedding – Magnolia Hotel, Omaha

I have another wedding to share, and this time we didn’t get snowed on!  As a matter of fact it was a gorgeous afternoon, which was perfect for Gary & Brita’s outdoor ceremony in the courtyard at the Magnolia.  The whole afternoon was a very fun, relaxed and family & friend oriented affair, which is pretty much my favorite type of wedding to photograph.  Here’s a few of my favorites.  Thanks for having me out Gary & Brita and congrats again!

  • Paul & Michelle’s Wedding – St. Mark’s in Omaha

A few weekends back (February 4th) I shot my first wedding of 2012. It snowed that day. Kind of a lot. The last wedding I shot had some snow as well (these two wedding days have actually been the only two snow storms in Omaha for this winter).  I realize that snow storms during weddings must be incredibly stressful for brides, but I’ve really enjoyed it these last two weddings.  It makes for a really beautiful and memorable day, and really unique pictures.  Here’s a few of my favorites from the day.  Congrats Paul & Michelle, and thanks for having me out!

  • Jesse & Madeline’s Fontenelle Forest Wedding

Jesse & Madeline were married December 3rd at Fontenelle Forest, and if you remember what happened here in Omaha on December 3rd you’ll know we got a little bit of snow.  I drove down to Bellevue a few days before to look around and get some ideas.  I had a pretty good game plan for outdoor pictures, but by Saturday afternoon I realized all of that was going out the window.  What I didn’t know was that Jesse & Madeline were going to end up being troopers and spending some time with me outside anyway, and that I’d end up with some of the most interesting (snowy) couple’s portraits I’ve shot yet.  Congrats again Jesse & Madeline, and thanks for having me out to photograph your wedding!

  • David & Jessica’s Wedding

David & Jessica were married back in October at the First Unitarian Church in Midtown.  I shot David & Jessica’s engagement session back in May, and I was really excited to get to photograph their wedding.  Lindsay came along to help assist/shoot as needed, and she ended up taking what is probably my favorite picture of David & Jessica’s wedding (contender for my favorite wedding picture this year really), which is the black and white shot of Jessica and her dad waiting to walk down the aisle.  I seriously like that picture so much I almost blogged it by itself and went “done”.  Almost.  Here’s some of my my favorites from the day.  Congrats again David & Jessica!
