Lindsay and I met up with Derek & Michelle a couple weeks back to shoot some engagement pictures for them. We wanted to try out a couple of new spots and Derek & Michelle were totally game for it, I’m really excited with what we ended up with. We ended up going a little longer than normal. Right as we were looking at wrapping up the sun started setting and gave us this really warm, delicious back light. Make sure you check out the last shots because they’re some of my favorite.
I had the chance to second shoot a wedding for Anna McClary a while back. The ceremony took place downtown at St. John’s Parish with the reception out at Castle Unicorn. I really enjoyed the second shooting experience, any opportunity to get out and shoot is great and it was a relaxing change of pace to not be responsible for directing things. 😛 If you’re a wedding photographer in the Omaha, NE area and ran across this post, I’d love to second shoot for you!

Lindsay and I met up with the Schmidts a couple weekends back to shoot a family session at Elmwood park. It ended up being a surprisingly adventurous trip to the park- the Schmidts were willing to climb on some rocks, trudge through a bunch of mud, and get attacked by mosquitoes. I know I had fun (despite the mosquitoes) and I think they did too. Here are a few of our favorites!
I shot Michael & Ashley’s wedding a month back at Castle Unicorn, just outside of Glenwood, IA. They had a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding, followed up with a little bit of storm-induced excitement at the tale end of the night. It was pretty hard for me to pick favorites on this one, so it’s another large post. Congratulations again Michael & Ashley and thanks for choosing me to photograph your special day!
Our friends Justin & Jenn recently got engaged, so we went downtown with them last week to get some pictures. We ended up lucking out huge with a gorgeous Wednesday that was straddled by extremely stormy Tuesday and Thursdays. I’m really glad we got a chance to meet up and hang out guys, here’s a few (a bunch) of me and Lindsay’s favorites. Congrats again on your engagement, we’re super happy for you!
