I had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding this Fall for Ben Elsass at the Holland Center in downtown Omaha. Fantastic venue, talented live music, and a happy couple that you literally couldn’t catch without a smile on their faces. Thanks again Ben for having me out and congrats Bryan & Michelle! Lindsay’s younger brother Jeff got engaged to Sarah in Chicago this fall and they asked us to shoot some engagement pictures for them. We set a day, met up, and pretty much immediately got rained on. We decided to just go with it and break out some umbrellas for the worst of the rain. We ended up having a lot of fun, and the weather didn’t really cause us much trouble. We started out at Lake Zorinsky, played a few holes of mini-golf at Pacific Springs, then headed downtown for dusk. I’m really becoming a fan of shooting during the last 15 minutes before sundown. Anyway, congrats again Jeff and Sarah! Here’s a few of my favorites from the day.
Autumn is pretty much my favorite time of the year to get out and shoot. The weather is usually really comfortable and the fall colors make great backdrops pretty much anywhere. Lindsay and I were really excited to get to meet up with Colin and Emily last month to shoot some engagement pictures. We started at the OPPD arboretum for some natureish shots, then headed downtown for an urban vibe. We finished up right around dusk at the old market Upstream, which was kind of neat because Colin and Emily’s first date was at an Upstream (west). Here’s some of our favorites from the evening. Jim and Abbey got married at Indian Creek golf course in September and had me out to photograph their day. You might remember them from their engagement session back in June. Jim and Abbey are one of those couples that are really easy going and fun to hang out with. That and the fantastic weather we had made for a great outdoor wedding. I stole both of them away from their reception briefly at sunset to grab a few pictures (somewhat rare but I’d encourage future couples to consider it). Here’s some of my favorites from the day!
So I’ve fallen pretty behind on posting what I’ve been up to, and I’ve resolved to play some catch up over the next week. I’ll kick that effort off with 1 year pics of Addison. We’ve taken pictures for Addison at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months now, and she’s gotten more active every time. It’s been a lot of fun seeing her at each of these stages and seeing how much she changed each of those 3 months. Thanks Jess and Mark for having us out! We included a collage at the end with a picture from each session.
