I met up with Stephanie & Pete a week ago to shoot some maternity photos for them. Stephanie is a really great photographer out of Lincoln (Cleo Creative). The two of them were extremely easy to photograph, largely entertained each other and agreed to me dragging them all over the park without complaint. Here’s some of my favorites!
Alden & Erin were my first wedding for 2014. This is going to be a busy year for me and I was excited to get it started. I’ve set a number of photographic goals for myself this year. One of the more important ones is to really prioritize and focus on documenting family interactions. There’s a lot going on at a wedding and if you don’t force yourself to slow down and pay attention it’s easy to miss some of the quieter things that are happening.
With that said, Alden & Erin’s wedding was a perfect start for the year. Their ceremony was held at the Des Moines Botanical Garden, attended by family and close friends. The intimate reception that followed was at the Sheraton West Des Moines. Even as an outsider it was clear to me that family was important to this group and I’m glad I had the opportunity to document the day.

I made it out to Yutan last weekend to shoot an engagement session with Matt & Kaela. Both Matt & Kaela are with the Yutan fire department so we ended up with a pretty unique start to the session. Here’s a few of my favorites!

Jill, Dylan and I met a week and a half ago to shoot their engagement session. We lucked out with a 60 degree weekend bookended on either side by a lot of sub-freezing weather. We started out downtown and then moved to mid-town to catch some of the holiday lights. Here’s a few of my favorites!
